Why Your Business Strategy Isn’t Giving You The Results You Want

Power Moves

From Strategy Fatigue to Authentic Growth: My Journey to Business Alignment

In the beginning of my branding photography career, clients didn’t just want photos — they wanted to know how to use them. They wanted strategy.

“What do I write in the caption?”
“How do I create a post that attracts the right people?”
“You’re so good at this…What’s your secret?”
, they would ask me.

And the truth is: I had a strategy.
I had frameworks. And I gave my clients exactly what they asked for — the step-by-step strategy they thought they needed to get results.

But I also knew there was more to it than just a framework to follow.
Something deeper that made the strategy work.
Something I was doing naturally — without even realizing it.

That deeper piece was connection.

Why I Really Shrunk

During that season, expressing myself online felt easier than expressing myself in person. It was safer. More spacious. I even had a family member once say to me, “You’re so expressive online, but not in real life. It’s like you’re two different people — which one is the real you?”

why your business strategy isn't getting the results you want

I’ll admit, at first, I was taken aback—even offended—like she was accusing me of being ‘fake’. I told her I was both—and I meant it.
But the truth is, it was hard to be fully expressive in real life. Not because I was pretending online, but because in person, I didn’t feel safe. I didn’t feel seen. And sometimes, even the people I loved the most would scoff or dismiss what I had to say.

Over time, it became easier to stay small. To shrink.
To stay quiet in environments that didn’t feel safe for the most genuine version of me.

But shrinking didn’t feel like protection.
And the reality is, shrinking felt exhausting. More so than fully expressing myself.

I Tried to Show Them — But I Didn’t Know How to Teach It

I tried to explain that the real magic wasn’t in the caption formula.
It wasn’t in the content calendar.
It was in how connected I was to what I was saying — to my truth, my energy, my alignment in the moment.

And while I could see that connection in my clients — that spark, that soul — I didn’t yet know how to lead them into it.
Because even though I was embodying it online, I didn’t fully understand the energetics behind it.
I didn’t have language for it.
I didn’t yet fully own it.

So when clients pushed back or didn’t implement, I defaulted to what I could teach: the strategy.
It was what they asked for.
It was what I could confidently deliver.
And honestly, it was easier.

Because every time I tried to speak into the deeper piece — the part of them that lit up when they were being real, the stories that held power, the truth they wanted to share — I was met with resistance.

Some Got It — But Still Didn’t Use It

There were a few clients who did understand.
They got what I meant when I pointed out their voice, their energy, and their story.

But they were too afraid to share it.

Afraid of judgment, being seen.
Afraid of what might happen if they let people into the real version of themselves.

And what I didn’t realize at the time… was that these clients were a mirror of me.
You see, the world reflects back to us what we already are – so we can see and understand ourselves more clearly.

I was so focused on their hesitation — their resistance to being seen — that I missed the whole point.
They were reflecting exactly what I was doing, too.

But our humanness has this tricky way of externalizing everything.
We blame the algorithm. The audience. The economy. The offer. Maybe even the strategy.

I told myself my clients were just too scared.
That they didn’t want the connection piece.
That no one really cared about authenticity.

But the truth is… neither did I.
Not at a deep level anyway. Not yet.

I was scared, too.

I was afraid that if I showed up in full truth and it didn’t work, then I would have nothing to fall back on.
So instead of owning that fear, I blamed the results.
I blamed the resistance.
I blamed the lack of bookings.

Heck, I even blamed all the experiences I had growing up of when I did fully express myself and the rejection I received. It was enough proof to keep me playing small.

But what I’ve learned is that your external world will always show you what’s going on internally.

And it wasn’t until I finally accepted that as truth…
That things began to shift.

It Wasn’t Fear of Sharing — It Was Lack of Language for What I Knew

Looking back, I can see that I wasn’t hiding the truth on purpose.
I just hadn’t fully integrated it yet.

I didn’t know how to teach authenticity — because I hadn’t yet learned how to fully live it.
I could spot it. I could feel it. I could even talk about it.
But I hadn’t embodied it deeply enough to teach it in a practical way — in a way that others could access, apply, and actually implement in their own lives.

That’s the part that changed everything.

Once I began exploring Human Design, energy centers, cyclical living, and intuitive alignment…
Everything that once felt natural but unexplainable finally had a name.
A language.
A structure.
Something I could anchor into, live by, and then teach from.

And this is when my voice came back online.

This Isn’t About Strategy or Energy. It’s About Both.

In the coming weeks, you’ll see me sharing more about the deeper layers of alignment that make your strategy work.

Things like:

  • What Alignment looks like in real life.
  • How Human Design energy centers shape your visibility and messaging.
  • How fear of rejection hides inside your content – and what to do about it.
  • Why some posts feel magnetic and others fall flat (hint: it’s not the algorithm)
  • How to reconnect with your voice in a way that feels safe, honest, and aligned.

Because you have all the tools…But if the connection is missing, your audience will feel that.

You will too.

And you don’t need to force your way through anymore.

You get to lead from truth. And that truth? It starts with you.

If You Felt This in Your Body, You’re in the Right Place

If anything in this post stirred something inside you —
If even one line made you feel seen, heard, or understood in a way you haven’t in a long time —
Then trust me when I say: you are not alone, you’re not broken, and you are not wrong for wanting more.

That ache you feel?
That craving for deeper connection, more clarity, more alignment in how you show up and serve?
That’s not your imagination.
It’s not a phase.
It’s your soul calling you forward.

And yes, your ego may be telling you to play it safe — because up until now, you’ve survived without this deeper piece.
Or maybe you’ve glimpsed it, but when you tried to lead from that place, you were met with judgment or silence.
So you backed down. You shrank. You went back to what felt safe.

But something in you knows:
You’re meant for more.

You’re done hiding.
Done doubting.
Done stuffing your soul into strategies that don’t feel like you.

You’re ready for something real.
Something grounded.
Something deeply aligned with who you are and how you’re meant to lead.

Two Paths. One Truth.
