Real Estate Branding – Danielle Salm

Photography Inspiration

Why is personal branding so important for real estate agents? The answer is simple….it’s because there are literally THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of agents!

So, what exactly does personal branding do for real estate agents?

Building a personal brand online allows you to:

  • Identify your business to others (without sounding salesy)
  • Set expectations of what it’s like to work with you
  • Show the experiences that expands your knowledge of your industry
  • Share stories of your current and past clients
  • Create relationships with people you might have not otherwise found
  • My personal favorite – be unapologetically you

Take Danielle Salm of Tampa Bay Dream Homes for example. She does a killer job of not only setting herself up as the expert and go to person for buying/selling/investing/relocating to Tampa Bay, Florida.

It’s clear when you check out her Instagram that she is a friendly, down to earth agent. But she also does an amazing job of connecting with her audience with content that isn’t real estate related.

This is vital when creating a personal brand. If you are only posting about real estate, chances are you’re not getting much engagement or new clients from Instagram.

Once you allow your audience to get to know you as a person that they begin to relate to you. Then when it is time for them to need an agent (or know someone who does), you will be the first to come to mind.

And that’s what it’s all about. It’s about being there for your potential clients when they need you.

I personally really enjoyed this recent personal branding session with Danielle. This was our second session together so we were able to dive deeper into our strategy to get her content that will help her connect with her current followers and also grow organically. Literally, with each session you do, it gets better and better. I could sit here and tell you why/how…but I feel that Danielle is truly the best person to tell you:

“Going into my second session, I felt much more prepared and extremely excited. Kimberly and I had a call the week before, talked through what types of content I would be posting over the next few months and what types of pictures I wanted to use with that content. We talked through the outfits and props in detail to make sure that we had everything we needed on the day of the shoot!

My fiancé could tell how much fun we had prepared because he said about our excitement during our strategy facetime call, he said, and I quote “you both sounded like you were in high school all giddy for a slumber party”. Ha-ha.. He wasn’t wrong 😉  Once we were at the house, we went through the outfits and props I brought, preplanned which ones would go with each picture and content category, and then we went to go have fun, laughing the day away getting some of the best shots.”

Danielle and I started working together with my 1:1 coaching, then she immediately dove into my VIP personal branding photography package. This package includes 4 sessions, done quarterly in one year. You may be thinking…do I really need quarterly sessions? The answer is, it depends on your goals. Check out what Danielle has to say about doing quarterly sessions:

“These quarterly sessions have been a game-changer for me! It is so easy to get lost in your own day-to-day grind, doing everything for everyone else, and prioritizing everyone else’s needs above your own. Having these quarterly sessions with Kimberly is not only super fun, but it holds me accountable to thinking about what I want my business to look like, the messages that I am marketing to my perfect clients, and making sure that I execute on them because I have the resources (content) to do so.

These sessions force me to think about what I have been doing, what did work and didn’t work, and what I want to try for the upcoming quarter. It makes me think through my goals and make sure that my content and efforts are aligned with those goals!”

Last but certainly not least, here’s what Danielle had to say about what she enjoyed the most during this session:

“What did I enjoy the most? Well, its really hard to pinpoint just one thing. First of all, we nailed the location. I loved shooting in such an awesome, funky, Pinterest worthy home that also happened to be in my neighborhood which is one of the primary neighborhoods that I am trying to build my customer base in. As always, I just love how much fun Kimberly and I have together. Her and I are very much a like in that we love being creative together, chatting, and laughing, but we also know when it’s time to get down to business.

Our enjoyment in being around one another definitely makes working together even easier and seamless! We also got some INCREDIBLE shots that truly speak to who I am and help my followers relate to me because they actually feel like they know me. Kimberly even gave me an ultra-thoughtful gift that day because it also happened to be my BIRTHDAY! I can imagine a better way to spend my birthday than getting glammed up, posing, and laughing the day away with my photographer, brand coach, and most importantly, my friend, Kimberly!”
